Tvisha + Saagar, a Mumbai Wedding

Silicon Valley Love Story Culminates in Lavish Mumbai Wedding

In a heartwarming tale of love and cultural fusion, Tvisha Gangwani and Saagar Kausheeka tied the knot in a stunning wedding celebration in Mumbai, India. Tvisha and Saagar Kausheeka’s journey took them across iconic cities and culminated in a grand wedding spanning two weeks, two continents, three cities, and eight spectacular events from 28th October to 7th November 2024. The highlight of the wedding was Tvisha’s solo performance in a custom one-of-a-kind Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla gown with 8000 Swarovski crystals and an 80-foot skirt synchronized with LED backdrops.

The couple’s love story began in the unlikeliest of places – their workplace, Microsoft in Seattle. Despite living in iconic cities worldwide, Tvisha and Saagar found each other during the pandemic, forging an unbreakable bond. Soon their love took to the Land of the Rising Sun, where Saagar proposed at the historic Yasaka Pagoda, in Kyoto, Japan.

As Tvisha shares, “We often joke that we are two halves of the same whole as I had lived in the US for 6 years, India for 17, he had lived in India for 6 years and the US for 17! Our thoughts, our choices, and our values all match making this relationship what it is. We love to travel and have traveled to 10+ countries over the last two years! Each trip only strengthened our bond and made us fall deeper in love.”

Their wedding was a beautiful blend of Indian and American cultures, with Tvisha, a Wharton School of Business alumna, and Saagar, a Tamilian raised, Bay Area native, exchanging vows in a traditional Indian ceremony at the St. Regis Mumbai. The couple planned the events inclusive of the cultures they are rooted in, starting with Mata Ki Chowki, a homage to Tvisha’s Sindhi roots. The Sangeet which was a black tie-themed event brought their Western influences to India.

By mixing and matching some of Rahul Mishra’s finest pieces, the couple kicked off their Mehendi on 31st October. A fun Diwali Party was unveiled at Bastian-At the Top, followed by the Haldi at Gallops for which Tvisha chose Uniza Punjabi, a unique outfit specially designed for her. What made the festivities brighter were the guests playing the tabla to get a glass of champagne. Tvisha and Saagar are a Sabyasachi couple, adorning a custom-made couture outfits for their Pheras at St. Regis. Tvisha honored her culture with both a North and South Indian mangal sutra. The festivities culminated with a grand Reception in Chennai, a nod to both Tvisha’s Mallu and Saagar’s Tamilian culture. The event even saw Tvisha donning a stunning Kanchipuram silk saree with real gold zari.

The couple shares, “We’ve lived in so many cities, traveled to more, but have finally found our home in each other. The wedding was like a dream for us, and with different venues, came different experiences, and everything was beautiful and serene.”
