Like many couples, our relationship began as a friendship. We met in our junior year of college and quickly discovered we shared many similarities; our upbringing, food and travel preferences, our taste in music and movies and even the fact that we were born in neighboring countries in Africa.
These commonalities sparked our connection, but it was our differences that made us fall in love. One of us valued waking up early to seize the day, while the other demonstrated the beauty of slowing down, breathing, and savoring the little moments.
When it came time to choose our wedding location, we wanted a place that felt like an exciting new destination while offering our guests a sense of familiarity.
