Blog Shaloo + Timothy, a Boston, Massachusetts Wedding
About Our Wedding
Our celebration was a three-day, multicultural event that combined the vibrancy of Hindu customs with the sophistication of Western traditions, all set against the stunning backdrop of Boston, Massachusetts. The journey began with a lively Baraat at Faneuil Hall Marketplace—Timothy arrived on horseback, accompanied by energetic dhol drumming and loved ones dancing through the streets. We continued with the emotional Haldi and Mehendi ceremonies at the InterContinental Boston, immersing our guests in the warmth of ancient rituals and joyful gatherings.
The wedding ceremony itself took place at the State Room, where floor-to-ceiling windows showcased the sweeping Boston skyline. We exchanged vows that blended both Hindu rituals—like the garland exchange and Saptapadi—and heartfelt Western promises. Our reception carried an elegant Yin-Yang black-and-white theme, symbolizing the harmony we find in each other’s differences. With towering floral arrangements, a custom dance floor, and music that seamlessly interwove Bollywood and contemporary hits, the evening radiated love and celebration.
