Short story:
Dan and I wanted a destination wedding that was more unique and offer something that you could not get in America. Marrakesh has the most beautiful architecture, amazing cuisine, and the most friendly people you’ll ever meet in your life! It was a no brainer that we wanted to bring our loved ones there. We both live in NYC and have such busy lives managing our corporate jobs, we loved indulging in the royal treatment when we visited Marrakesh.
We fell in love with our wedding venue, Ksar Char Bagh, which is a 14 century Moorish Palace located in the Palmeraie. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the space was so intimate. Our henna party was a bit of a juxtaposition; we had our friends taken into Marrakesh for dinner, dancing, and hookah at Azar Restaurant. My bengali heritage was honored with a henna artist on hand and gaye holud ceremony. I am obsessed with Yves Saint Laurent so I wore vintage YSL jewelry and accessories through out the wedding weekend. We kicked off festivities with drinks at Royal Mansour, our henna party at the Levantine restaurant Azar, and our black tie wedding at Ksar Char Bagh.
