Our story began when Akash messaged me on Hinge during a visit to LA—one text that changed everything. Despite the challenge of long distance during residency, we saw each other every two weeks, and that rhythm of love and commitment became the foundation for the wedding we always dreamed of. When we envisioned our celebration, we didn’t just picture one day—we dreamed of an experience that felt like us in every detail.
The festivities began with a mehndi and haldi at my childhood home in Irvine, CA, where I had my mehndi applied on the same green bench I grew up playing on—a moment both nostalgic and grounding.
Our sangeet at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad transformed into a vibrant, European-inspired soirée. A custom blue dance floor, bursts of pink and yellow, and lush greenery set the stage for music and dance that felt like a true festival of joy.
The wedding ceremony carried a softer, romantic energy. Designed with layers of greenery, peaches, and burgundy, the space felt intimate yet grand. Blending Marathi traditions with Rajasthani elements, it felt like a true merging of our families. Exchanging handwritten vows was my most treasured moment—personal and deeply meaningful amidst tradition. As I walked down the aisle, a color cannon burst during our favorite song, creating a memory suspended in time.
The reception was our perfect finale. Golden accents, cascading florals, and candlelit warmth set a glamorous yet heartfelt scene. Glitter rained down as we danced, a dazzling moment of pure bliss we’ll never forget.
