“Kamran and I did not meet like the average couple. It was a few weeks before my birthday in 2011, I was on Facebook and ran across a comment he had written on a mutual friends picture. I thought he was pretty cute, but we only had one mutual friend, however I decided to risk it and add him as a friend. He accepted my friend request the next day and sent me a chat message. At first I was really rude and obnoxious to him, but he kept making jokes to try and win me over. I checked out his profile and realized he lived MILES away in Dallas! After a few days of chatting we exchanged numbers, the first time we talked on the phone it was a 30 minute conversation. I knew there was something different about him from that day, and when I hung up the phone I knew he was going to be my husband. Two weeks after that he flew up to Chicago to meet me for the first time, we went to Navy Pier and took a speed boat ride on the Speed Dog, where he proposed in the middle of the Lake Michigan in front of about 100 people! I was so shocked and speechless, of course I accepted and a year later we were married! We held one of our wedding photo shoots on Lake Michigan just to commemorate the memory!” — From the bride.
