Blog Personalizing Your Indian Fusion Wedding Reception Look
In the heart of Silicon Valley, a group of creatives came together to express their talent in the wedding industry. Their goal was to create looks and photos that would inspire Indian fusion couples, blending elements of both partners’ cultures while embracing each other’s backgrounds.
Imagine a beautiful, modern, and artistic wedding location. The ceremony is over, and it’s time to transition to the reception—a moment for the couple to interact with guests and capture some romantic couple shots, perhaps by a beautiful fireplace.
As the newlyweds step into their new life together, promising love and care for each other, this article aims to provide ideas for adding personal touches through outfits, jewelry, makeup, and photography.
We explored two looks in the same outfit but with different accessories. Let’s dive in:
The Groom: Despite not being Indian, the groom adorned himself with ornate jewelry reminiscent of the bride’s accessories. He wore an 18K gold brooch adorned with natural diamonds and emeralds, matching the bride’s earrings. Interestingly, this brooch doubles as a pendant, offering versatility beyond the wedding day. Paired with a well-fitted navy blue suit, the groom exuded a blend of ethnic and modern charm, accentuated by his engagement ring, belt, and diamond brooch.
The Bride: Draped in a navy blue lehenga embellished with intricate pink fuchsia flower embroidery, the bride showcased a contemporary yet elegant silhouette, complementing the groom’s attire for cohesive photos. She opted to wear her mangalsutra, a symbol of marriage given by the groom, layered with a diamond necklace for a modern touch. Classic diamond and emerald chandeliers added a pop of color, while infinity diamond bangles and carefully selected rings expressed her personality. A loose English bun and neutral makeup with a hint of pink lipstick completed her look seamlessly.
Reception Look 2:
In this ensemble, we demonstrate how minor accessory changes can transform the overall look.
The Groom: Catering to the groom’s preference for modern elements, we adorned him with a contemporary diamond brooch featuring a round motif with a solitaire centerpiece, also wearable by the bride as a pendant.
The Bride: Recognizing that not all cultures incorporate a mangalsutra, we substituted it with a long chain and a statement pendant made with unique fancy-cut diamonds. Simple solitaire studs complemented the bold neckpiece, while the diamond bangles maintained their elegance and versatility.
