Love at first swipe
Vinay and Neha met the modern way: by swiping right on Bumble (swoon) in February 2021!
Not having any luck in Vancouver, Neha turned Travel Mode on the app and matched with Vinay, who lived in Calgary. In hindsight, this was the best $20 she ever spent.
After messaging one another non-stop for two days, Neha and Vinay had their first FaceTime date. It started at 6:30PM and ended… a short 8 hours later at 2:30AM. Their chemistry was undeniable, and before Neha went to bed, she texted her best friends, “I’m going to marry this guy.”
A few days later, Vinay sent her a surprise delivery on Valentine’s Day of her favourite flowers and chocolates with a note that read; “I know I didn’t ask you to be my Valentine, but at this point, I don’t think that’s necessary.”
He booked his flight that day to visit her in Vancouver a few short weeks later. They’ve been together ever since, constantly flying between both cities and racking up those travel points!
Being the die-hard food enthusiast and view seeker that Neha is—Vinay booked a private dinner for Neha at Sunset Monlisa in Los Cabos—rated one of the most spectacular and best fine dining experiences in the world.
What she thought was going to be a fun evening out with some of their closest friends during the trip, turned into the most memorable night of Neha’s life. Vinay got down on one knee and proposed to her on April 19, 2022.
The rest, as they say, is history.
