How we met
In the spring of 2019, as Neeharika was a college junior and Raunak was finishing up his final semester, both swiped mindlessly on Tinder for laughs. Having matched, Neeharika, jokingly, said she would need to see a resume and cover letter from Raunak before deciding to proceed with a date. She found them both in her email inbox an hour later- Raunak’s real, professional resume, and a charming, personalized cover letter that detailed all the ways that he would make the best boyfriend and partner. After that, Neeharika knew that she had to meet the man behind it. That Saturday, they met at a small coffee shop and spent all night talking in a nearby park, and the rest of the story wrote itself.
The Proposal
Neeharika got a text from Raunak on a Saturday night in the late spring of 2023 saying that a couple of friends wanted to go hiking early the next morning in a local county park, despite it being due to rain. Being frequently privy to unplanned hikes in questionable weather conditions, this did not raise any alarms for Neeharika. Coincidentally (?) it was the same park they had giggled away a night in for the first time four years prior. Early Sunday, complete with windbreaker, rainboots, and an complete lack of suspicion, she made her way to the park. She was texted to come to the gazebo overlooking the lake, where Raunak was waiting on one knee.
