Michael and Nafessa realize this world is diverse and full of so many beautiful cultures, religions, language, and people.  They felt their circumstances gave them an opportunity to expose the people in their lives to all the beauty that diversity has to offer, in hopes that that understanding of diversity and love spreads.  Thus, a year before their wedding Nafessa and Michael took a year long trip abroad.  After that they came home and planned their wedding – which thankfully happened Feb 2020 right before COVID -19 hit hard in the US.  They made their wedding about bringing all the incredible people in their lives together, people who normally wouldn’t have any reason to meet, people with very different backgrounds.  They had a 3 day wedding mixed with many South Asian and Western cultures, mixed in.  200 people together from all over the world, over 15 languages spoken and more ethnicities than they could count.  They wanted to make their wedding like a family camp and at the end of those days all their family and friends fell in love with each other.  They were exposed to different backgrounds, and different stories, and still saw the human similarities among each other.  People became and now are keeping in touch with each other.
