Our Engagement Story:
Kriti and John’s love story began during their undergraduate years at The Pennsylvania State University. By chance—and with the help of some close friends—they met for the first time at a pool party on campus. From that day on, they started talking more and getting to know each other better. Their first official date took place at a local pizzeria, a moment etched in their memories for an unexpected reason: the pizza was so hot they had to use cutlery to eat it, a first for both of them – it also allowed them both to share a laugh over their comically weak tolerance for hot food. The date went so well that they continued spending time together, building a relationship that, around five years in, would be met with the moment of a lifetime, with Kriti being lucky enough to have her brother Ishan in tow.
Fast forward to July 13, 2024:The day John surprised Kriti with the proposal of her dreams. Early in their relationship, Kriti had shared her vision of a perfect proposal—at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, with a stunning ring from Tiffany & Co. John made that dream a reality in the most magical way. The day was filled with surprises and sweet moments. It began with a slight hiccup—Kriti had decided to wash her hair that morning, and as luck would have it, her blow dryer from the U.S. wasn’t working. John, ever thoughtful and considerate, took her to a local salon so she could have her hair done for their “dinner reservation.” As they got ready and headed out, Kriti noticed the Uber was headed somewhere that definitely was not a restaurant.
Soon, everything became clear. John had arranged for a surprise photoshoot with a professional photographer (@theparisphotographer and @vioparis), capturing the beautiful Parisian backdrop. During the shoot, as Kriti turned around, she found John down on one knee, holding the ring she had always dreamt of. Overwhelmed with joy, Kriti said “YES!” That unforgettable day marked the beginning of a new chapter for Kriti and John. They’re now excitedly planning their wedding and looking forward to the adventures that await them in the future.
