Kavita, a Gujarati based in the United States, and Anit, a Hindu-Punjabi in United Kingdom, were planning an Indian wedding in Morocco, navigating different time zones, cultures, and logistics. One of the biggest challenges they faced was finding local vendors for traditional Indian elements, as Morocco was unfamiliar with Indian weddings. However, they managed to bring in talented vendors from around the world to help bring their vision to life. Despite the obstacles, they were determined to create a celebration that honoured both of their cultures.
Their wedding festivities kicked off with an oceanfront Welcome Dinner with a Boho Chic vibe. Kavita wore a gorgeous ivory embroidered trail lehenga made from luxurious Milano satin, paired with a tassel-adorned blouse. They wanted the event to reflect everything they loved about Morocco, and the setting was perfect—complete with a stunning sunset, camels walking along the beach, Moroccan tapestries decorating the space, and lantern-lit paths leading the guests. The dinner featured their favourite Moroccan dishes, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their loved ones.
The next day, the vibrant Haldi ceremony where Kavita dressed in a colourful lehenga, adorned with intricate handmade jewellery that perfectly captured the joyful spirit of the day. The highlight was their stunning custom-built backdrop—a floating explosion of bright colours over the pool. The lively atmosphere, along with splashes of Haldi, made for a day filled with love, laughter, and traditions.
Their Moroccan-inspired Sangeet was held at the breathtaking Calypso Beach Club. Kavita sparkled in an Abhinav Mishra mirror lehenga that shimmered with every movement. The night came alive with belly dancers moving gracefully to enchanting music, while fire performers lit up the sky with stunning displays. The bride, groom, and their families performed dances, adding to the warm, celebratory atmosphere. Intricate Moroccan tapestries, lanterns, and golden arch gates adorned the venue, creating a romantic tribute to the country they had come to love.
Their wedding day was the culmination of their 12-years long journey, celebrated with their family and friends. Kavita looked ethereal in a pastel pink lehenga, a breathtaking fusion of tradition and artistry. The lehenga was adorned with intricate zardozi, zari, and resham embroidery, with gold and silver threads weaving elaborate floral motifs throughout. She completed her enchanting look with a delicate floral veil and traditional jewellery, including red choodas and kaleeras, beautifully honouring Anit‘s Punjabi heritage.
Anit, in turn, radiated regal elegance in a custom champagne sherwani, meticulously crafted to perfection. The luxurious fabric was harmoniously paired with a cream safa and a dupatta matching Kavita’s floral colour, elevating his traditional wedding attire to new heights of sophistication. The ceremony took place outdoors, with the ocean glistening in the distance and lush trees and fragrant bushes surrounding the venue. A beautiful floral mandap stood at the centre, blending seamlessly with the natural beauty around them. As they circled the fire, the soulful melodies of the live tabla filled the air, providing a rhythmic backdrop to their heartfelt ceremony. It was a magical day, capturing their love story and the start of their new chapter together.
The reception was a display of glitz and glamour, reflecting their love story as they celebrated as Mr. and Mrs. Sharma. Kavita wore an exquisite pearl lehenga by Seema Gujral, which shimmered under the soft lights of the venue.
