Our Story:
Spencer and I met in Boston two years ago and quickly realized we had found our forever person. We both connected on family, service, and leaving an impact in the world. After a whirlwind year of dating that included New England adventures and a trip to Mexico City, we got engaged. Spencer proposed in the Alps during our Tour du Mont Blanc trek (10 days of hiking in the Alps between France, Italy and Switzerland). It was so special because we both love nature and being active outdoors.
Our wedding was a 3 day, 30 person celebration in the backyard of our home in Minnesota, USA in October 2024. We wanted to celebrate the fusion of our cultures (Indian and American) and had a casual setting where our closest friends and family could be involved and also spend time with us. The theme was fairytale ethereal and it was set in our home. The events were mehendi, haldi, chooda, baraat, wedding day ceremony, jutta chuppai, and ring game. The baraat was a second line, an ode to my husband’s time spent living in New Orleans, from the front yard to the backyard. The mandap was decorated with white wisteria, reminding us of our second date walking around Beacon Hill in Boston. We made the mandap ourselves with the loving help of our parents, siblings, and friends. My kaleera had butterfly motifs and my mangalsutra had a flower pendant to reflect our love for nature. We had a Hindu priest perform the wedding rituals which was followed by dinner and a house dance party complete with an eclectic mix of bhangra and Nelly. From endearing moments to exuberant dancing, the celebrations filled our home with beautiful memories and blessings for a lifetime.
