Pious and Jun both found each other the old-fashioned way, by swiping right on a dating application that rhymes with Humble. Soon after, they began messaging each other before Pious finally gave Jun her number. After a week of texting and getting to know each other, they decided it was time to meet in person. On a chilly August evening in 2018, Pious and Jun made their way to the Forest Hills Stationhouse, a local watering hole, where they had their first date.
The first date:
Pious wanted a tart vodka drink and ordered a Moscow mule as they got settled to meet each other for the first time. Conversations were great and eventually Pious said that she loved the copper mug that her drink came in.
The menu read “Please don’t steal the Moscow mule cups,” and Jun knowing that Pious was a prosecutor, decided against his better judgment and took the cup from the bar. Jun then volunteered to walk Pious home and chose that moment to present the cup to her.
“You know this is petit larceny right?!” exclaimed Pious, but deep down inside, she knew that she was impressed with Jun‘s badassness
Our lives together:
Fast forward a few years later, this couple has had many adventures in far and wide places and supported each other through new frontiers such as Jun’s dream job at National Hockey League and Pious passing the California Bar.
After adopting Chiku, their baby, they are ready to make it official!
During Memorial Day weekend, Jun decided to get down on one knee and ask Pious to marry him surrounded by beautiful mountains and lakes at Minnewaska State Park Preserve. Pious said yes and Chiku approved.
