How We Met
Avi and I came across each other’s profiles on Dilmil. Shortly after swiping right on the profiles, we exchanged phone numbers and we started chatting with each other. It was only the third day of us talking on the phone, when I told him that I was going on a single ladies trip with my cousins to London and Italy, the following week. During our chat, he briefly mentioned that Rome was on his bucket list. I jokingly suggested that he should join us and that if we didn’t feel the connection on our first date, then we would simply not see each other again. Before I could grasp the situation, he flew out from California as I flew out from New York to London where we met for the first time. Prior to our first date, I had twisted my ankle, and I was struggling to walk. However, I still gathered the strength to meet him because I knew he had traveled across the ocean just to meet me. During our date, I was mesmerized by his sweet gestures. He would offer to sit down more frequently since he saw my struggle to walk, and he gave me his jacket when he saw I was shivering in the cold weather of London. At that point, I knew he was the one. That very same day, we flew off to Rome where our love blossomed.
The Proposal
I always wanted to be proposed in a dreamy, Bollywood way and I would give such hints to Avi. Our roka (pre-engagement ceremony) took place on October 29, 2022 among our family and close friends. A few months later, Avi had told me he booked us a flight to Paris for our pre-wedding photoshoot. When I got ready for the photo shoot, we drove to the Eiffel tower to take few pictures quickly since it had started to rain. While people were running to get cover from the rain, Avi grabbed my hand and walked me in the direction of the Eiffel Tower at which point I was surprised to see a beautiful proposal set up with lots of candles and roses. The next thing I knew, he got on his knee and proposed to me with my dream ring. It was one of the best days of my life.
