The Gilded Folklore — Puneet Gupta’s Handcrafted Minaudières

The Gilded Folklore — Puneet Gupta’s handcrafted minaudières ~ an ode to temple treasures and royal regalia

The Gilded Folklore unfolds in two evocative chapters. The first, inspired by European aristocracy, pays homage to treasures once safeguarded in palace vaults. Here, custom prints, jeweled accents, and delicate embroidery come together in three-dimensional finesse, evoking the opulence of vintage regalia. Each bag reflects a balance between timeless refinement and modern sensibility.

The second chapter takes us into the heart of Mewar, where Rajputana valor, folklore, and artistry inspire rich motifs and gemstone hues. Bags shimmer with hand-blown glass beads, jewel-like hangings, and ornate craftsmanship that recall the grandeur of Jaipur durbars, all brought into the present with contemporary detailing.

What makes the collection especially significant is its craftsmanship. Puneet revives the rare nakashi technique, detailed with silver and gold plating, once the pride of royal ateliers. The bags are consciously made from recycled metal, underscoring the brand’s commitment to sustainability and mindful artistry.

“For me, The Gilded Folklore is about creating pieces that go beyond fashion—they are vessels of memory and heritage. True luxury is rooted in permanence, not pace. Every bag is a story, designed to be treasured for generations to come,” shares Puneet Gupta.
