How We Met
Nissan and Brianna were first introduced through mutual friends in 2016, when they both were students at Texas Tech University. Their first date was at “Carol of the Lights”, a Texas Tech tradition where the lights on campus are lit at the beginning of the holiday season. They graduated together in May 2019, and moved back to Dallas/Fort Worth.
The Proposal
Nissan proposed to Brianna in December 2020. He surprised Brianna by proposing at their house that was under construction at the time. He even convinced the home builder to put in the sidewalk early so she wouldn’t have to walk in the construction dirt in heels!
The Wedding
Brianna and Nissan’s wedding was in May of 2023 in North Texas (DFW) – they did two wedding ceremonies: a Nepali Ceremony (5/20/2023) and a Western Ceremony/Reception (5/27/2023). Nissan is Nepali and is Hindu, and Brianna is Sri Lankan and White mixed and is Catholic – so they wanted to be intentional about how to blend and highlight their upbringings, religions, and cultures throughout their wedding events.
