Blog Ashka & Ronak, Carlsbad Flower Fields Wedding
Some love stories feel like they’re written in the stars, and ours was destined to be told among the flowers. On a golden California afternoon, surrounded by gardens we got married at the Carlsbad flower fields- a setting that couldn’t have been more fitting for a fairytale celebration I’ve always dreamed of. A little backstory- Ronak and I have been together for 6 years but our paths nearly crossed over for a decade before fate finally introduced us. I’d been close friends with his brother for over sixteen years, and somehow for ten of those years, I didn’t even know Ronak existed. He was tucked away in the world of video games, while I wandered through my own world of fairytales- dreaming of magic, love and happily ever after’s.
Little did I know, my prince was right there all along. We finally met on a road trip with friends- a journey that changed everything. Somehow we always found ourselves paired together, talking for hours and becoming hiking partners as though it had been planned all along. But what truly bonded us happened in the most difficult moment.
During that trip, my dog passed away and I was devastated. Stuck miles from home for 3 more days, I felt helpless. Ronak became my comfort and steady presence through my grief. That was when I knew he was going to be the biggest part of my story. Six years later, we promised each other in the most magical setting imaginable : the Carlsbad Flower Fields. I walked down the aisle in the soft California breeze, the scent for blossoms and ocean in the air. Our decor was romantic and dreamy and candlelight. Our first dance was under the setting sun and market lights- pure magic.
Family, friends, laughter and tears created a celebration that was as real as it was magical. Looking back, our wedding wasn’t just the start of a new chapter. It was the moment two worlds – his of video games and mine of fairytales – finally became one.
And just like every great love story, ours began when we least expected it, but exactly when we were meant to find each other.
