Blog Anushree & Blake: A Love Tale Transcending Borders
Matching on a dating app, Anushree and Blake met at a bar in Austin, Texas. What was planned as a brief meet turned into five hours of deep conversation. Their bond grew stronger during the pandemic, and two years later, during a trip to Hawaii, Anushree planned a beautiful beach proposal, receiving an ecstatic “yes!” from Blake.
Their wedding was an enchanting blend of two diverse cultures, unfolding in the mesmerizing city of Udaipur, India. Blake’s family, having traveled from Texas, enthusiastically donned traditional Indian attire for all the ceremonies, blending seamlessly into the festivities. This destination wedding saw both families coming together, celebrating and creating memories in Anushree’s hometown Udaipur.
Spanning six ceremonies over three days, their wedding was nothing short of a grand spectacle. It all commenced with the intimate Bridal Mehendi ceremony at a 200-year-old Haveli’s terrace, echoing with laughter and dance practices. This marked the prelude to their three-day celebration.
Day 1, set at a serene countryside resort, witnessed the Haldi ceremony where Anushree and Blake donned harmonizing ivory outfits. The Haldi décor was Boho themed. Evening transformed the resort into a lively space with a cocktail function, where Blake stood out in his blue tux and Anushree dazzled in her sequin champagne saree. The highlight of the day? Blake’s heartfelt surprise dance on “Saajan Ji ghar aye”, leaving everyone awestruck.
For Days 2 and 3, the venue shifted to a majestic 300-year-old Amet Haveli overlooking Lake Pichola. Every guest room was on the lake, making the experience even more magical. From vibrant mehendi functions to the dazzling Sangeet Sandhya, where Anushree glided in her Rajwada style lehenga and Blake in his green brocade kurta, every moment was etched with joy. The highlight of Sangeet Sandhya was Anushree and Blake’s performance on “Desi Girl”.
The grand finale, Day 3, witnessed two beautiful wedding ceremonies: a traditional Hindu wedding, where the couple took their vows overlooking the majestic City Palace, and a serene white wedding under the starlit sky. The bride stunned in a traditional red lehenga for the Hindu wedding and later transitioned into a custom-designed pearl-detailed white gown. Blake, on the other hand, effortlessly transitioned from an elegant ivory sherwani to a classic black tux.
Their wedding journey, encapsulated by their first dance to “Falling in Love”, is a testament to love transcending boundaries and cultures.
